..documenting life and other musings..

A li'l footnote.

Today while substituting a U.S. History class at the local Catholic College Preparatory High School, I came across Al Franken's Lies, and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them, which, by the way, I first saw in the airport bookstore a few years ago (which was during a time when I wasn't allowed to even have the appearance of having liberal leanings).

Anyway, I picked it up and read it. I was so obsessed with it that I even checked it out from the library as they were closing tonight. Perhaps my favorite part, so far for I've read perhaps only a fourth of it, is a graphic novel-esque story called "The Gospel of Supply Side Jesus." It is quite savvy and witty and fairly frightening. I'm sure our Northern Neighbors would especially appreciate it.

Check it out.

That's awesome about that book. My boss is reading it right now and always talks about it. He loves especially to mention the title, and gets a real kick out of it.

You know what else is cool? I think my friends Mike & Amy were at that same Sufjan show you went to, Dave. They got me into Sufjan. I love that song about the Transfiguration he wrote on Seven Swans.

Dave, when you coming again? Do you mind sleeping on a forty year old couch? Do you mind good, strong coffee? But seriously, I'll talk with Elise about it again. You said the 12th originally, I remember. I'll try emailing you as well.

i wish i could come too. Elise, I vouch for Dave, that he's a cool guy. It's strange that we know you all so well and you've yet to meet each other.

Happy Eve of St. Nicolas Day!
