Just saw Walk the Line with Elise. I'm not going to say "Johnny Cash is God," but I'll admit that I'm tempted. Actually, he was perfectly horrendous in his early career (as were most in Rock & Roll history). Still I've got a soft spot for him in spite of (or perhaps because of) his appalling behaviour. But whatever he was like, the movie was quite good. I was in love the whole time. Everyone must see this movie, at the movie theatre, if possible.
I'm going to be listening to a lot of Johnny Cash in the coming days.

Johnny Cash. I miss him terribly. I received the best book this Christmas. A collection of interviews in Rolling Stone Magazine.
His work with Rick Rubin is brilliant. I love reading his thougths about his life and his work and his love and his faith.
I thought the film was fantastic. It was not perfect by any means nor was the man but that is why I love him. He loved Jesus. Undeniably he had faith. He is inspiring to me.
I weep when I listen to him sing.
Memory Eternal.
the only thing on kurt's christmas wish list (we did secret santas with his folks) was the movie poster from this movie.
and he got it. mounted even.
it is being framed and hung in a place of honor, (in the icon corner, perhaps?:)
Yes, certainly the movie was far from perfect. Still I enjoyed it. It was more like a series of vignettes of his life.
N.B. to Vic: I guess his image is quasi-scared, but then the poster is of Joaquin. A hottie, no doubt, but he just played the man. (Of course, I know your icon corner comment was a joke.)
ah, but the movie poster is a simple graphic of the man with the guitar slung across his back, and if you didn't know it was jaoquin, you would swear it was the man himself. it's a good graphic. nope, it's definitely going up in our icon corner :)
did you listen to the 4 hour show on prx? I linked it a month or so ago, but here it is again:
Johnny Cash, The Legend
Yes, there is that one. Sort of looks like an icon.
Wow, i can't believe i actually said "everyone must see this movie". what was i on?
